The 50 or so workers came together to drum, have fun and consider the value of their colleagues often working different hours or geographically dispersed. A fun team building morning to start the year. View the pictures here
Everybody came together to drum with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement. They drummed, sang, took on the role of being conductor of the group; I asked them to consider what challenges they wanted to take on in the new year, encouraging them to share and play with people they didn't already know well.
After the coffee break people came back to play some rhythms on boomwhackers as well as sharing embarraassing stories they had gathered together over coffee; i encouraged them to do this with people they didnt normally see at work every day. They enjoyed egging each other on to share a story more embarrasing than the last. Creating rhythms in colour teams based on their desires for the new year e.g. 'Four-day-week-end ' was one that captured peoples energy.
Back for a final blast on an instrument they hadnt already played and finish.
One woman called Jen said it was the best training event she had participated in; usually she was known to find a way to go home early. Lots of fun, warm engaging group. Ana and I enjoyed the event too. Thank you.
