Just spent the afternoon with 60 teachers from the Kingsbridge area. They have a kit of 45 djembes to share around their schools and needed input on what to do with them. One thing we worked with was this simple "Seed Rhythm  Set"
Avoid "teaching" Rhythms, Plant seeds instead
The biggest block to playing together is... fear of getting it wrong.
If players are focused on remembering or trying to get a rhythm "right"  then they are no longer connected to the group ... they are playing on their own
So plant seeds and watch them grow, focus on the process not the content.
